How to Apply

Welcome to the application process for Belhaven Memphis/DeSoto degree programs! Designed for your convenience, we trust you will find the application process trouble-free and speedy.

Step 1: Create a Profile

To apply, you must first create a profile. Creating a profile allows you to save, exit and return to the application without losing any of your information.


Step 2: Start and Complete an Application

Once you create your profile, you can begin an application for admission. Once you submit your application, you will be able to track your application status throughout the admission process. Pay the $25 application fee online upon completing the application.


Step 3: Submit Supplemental Information

Supplemental information can be submitted through your application profile. However, official transcripts must still be sent directly from the college(s) where courses have been taken. Select from the list below to see what supplemental items are required.

    • Submit High School Transcript: Undergraduate Students: A student who is applying with fewer than 12 semester hours of college credit must send to the office of admission an official high school transcript showing the date of graduation. A 2.0 grade point on a 4.0 scale average is required.
    • GED: A student who has earned the General Education Development (GED) certificate may be admitted. An official GED transcript must be provided from the State Department of Education of the state that issued the certificate. Students will need to reach a score of at least 145 on each subject and a total score of 580 or higher across all four subjects in order to be considered for admission.

    • Request Transcripts: Full credit is usually allowed for students transferring work from another regionally accredited institution. Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended. You may make copies of the transcript request form. We will submit that to all universities you have attended and pay the transcript request fee for you. See Transferability of Credit Notice. The registrar will determine if the work is consistent with a liberal arts curriculum.
    • Undergraduate Students: A student who is applying with fewer than 12 semester hours of college credit must send to the office of admission an official high school transcript showing the date of graduation. A 2.0 grade point on a 4.0 scale average is required.
    • Doctoral Students: A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale is required. No pass/fail course work is accepted. You may be eligible to transfer up to 30 hours from an Ed.S. degree program.

    • Request Transcripts: Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended. You may make copies of the transcript request form. We will submit that to all universities you have attended and pay the transcript request fee for you. See Transferability of Credit Notice.       • Undergraduate Students: Students applying with fewer than 12 semester hours of college credit acceptable by Belhaven must also submit an official high school transcript showing the date of graduation. A 2.0 grade point on a 4.0 scale average is required.
    • Submit Test Scores: A veteran who wishes to be assessed for military credit or who will use veteran benefits must submit a copy of Form DD214 and/or DD295 to Belhaven University.
