What makes Belhaven University different from other colleges and universities in Memphis?
All classes are taught from a Christian worldview perspective by a team of highly trained faculty who are specialists in their field. Our programs are designed with the working adult in mind-classes are held one night per week to accommodate your busy schedule. Our staff is here to help you not only start your accelerated degree program, but to complete it successfully and receive your degree! We believe that one of the ways we serve Christ is by serving our students.
How long will it take me to complete my adult degree?
For a bachelor's degree, it depends on how many qualifying transfer credits you have. If you possess at least an associate's degree, then you should be able to complete your bachelor's degree in two years or less. For a master's degree, you should be able to complete your degree in about two years.
Is Belhaven University accredited?
Yes. Belhaven University, is accredited Belhaven University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSOC) to award associate, baccalaureate, and master degrees. Also, the School of Business Administration has the following adult degree programs accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education: Master of Business Administration, Master of Science in Leadership, Bachelor of Business Administration, and Bachelor of Science in Management.
How long does it take to get admitted?
A number of variables determine how long it will take you to move from "applicant" to student. Obviously, the first step is to apply. (Click here to view the online application.) Your next step is to complete your free financial aid package (Click here to apply for financial aid online (FAFSA). (More information.). Then, depending on your program, your Admissions Counselor will work with you to complete your file. The average application process can take 4 to 6 weeks, but the time can be considerably shorter if you are proactive in ordering official transcripts and working closely with your counselor.
Where is Belhaven University located?
We have two locations in the Memphis area. Our primary campus is in the Forum II Building, 1790 Kirby Parkway, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38138. We also offer some classes in DeSoto County, Mississippi at 7111 Southcrest Parkway Suite 105, Southaven.
What is the format of classes in the accelerated degree program at Belhaven University?
Classes meet one night per week for a period of 5 -8 weeks, depending on the class and degree program. Group work with classmates is also required outside of the classroom to help enhance the learning experience in this accelerated format.
Do you accept transfer credits from other schools?
Applicants should contact ALL previously attended college and request Official Academic transcripts to be forwarded to the Belhaven University Admission office. Transfer credit is determined by the registrar on the basis that work must be from a regionally accredited institution, be college level, and equal a 2.0 average. Can I afford going back to school?
Belhaven recognizes that cost is an important factor to be considered when evaluating a degree program. Adult students are classified as full-time students and have the option to finance their education with financial aid. For more information on the tuition rates, please visit the tuition page on our website. Tuition includes use of books, materials, and technology.
Is financial aid available?
Yes, financial aid is available for those who qualify. You must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). (More information.)
What is the admission process?
Complete the online application for admission and request all transcripts from previously attended colleges be sent directly to the Belhaven University Memphis Campus. If you have not attended college before, request an official high school transcript.
What does it mean to be a Military Friendly School?
Belhaven University has designed our programs with the military in mind. Military personnel can attend classes at one of our six campus locations or participate in our online program. We offer a tuition discount for military and participate in the Yellow Ribbon program. We also participate in other veteran's benefits programs.
